The Cedar Valley Engine Club was organized as a non-profit club on Sept. 14th, 1966.  The group held their first show at the Mitchell County Fairgrounds with its 21 members.  The group of collectors had previously held shows around the territory in the years prior to this.  One year the show was in the New Hampton area.  On another year, the show was held in Black Hawk County.  The years following the Mitchell county show, the group moved the show to Floyd County.  The first few shows in Floyd County were at the Fair Grounds West of Charles City, Iowa.  The main drawback of having the show there is that the club’s show needed to be totally removed from the grounds by the end of the last day of the show.  This proved to be a problem.  In 1970 the club’s show was moved to its present location 7 miles West of Charles City, Iowa on Hwy 14.

Over the years the club has acquired many unusual pieces of farm machinery.  As well as some historically significant industrial pieces that we take pride in sharing with the general public.  The show grounds are continually evolving trying to bring new items to light each and every year.
