The saw mill at the grounds was put together from parts many many years ago. Martin Wetter was the main brain trust in doing this. The first few years of the show the saw mill was a portable one that was brought in to the grounds. Countless logs have crossed the blades of the saw mills that we have had at the grounds over the years. Enough thanks can't be said for what Martin and his helpers did in the past to make the saw mill what it is today. We hope you enjoy the singing of the blade as it cuts through the logs. The sounds of a saw mill are not matched by anything else. A person can tell the hardness of the wood by the sound the blade makes as it rips through the wood. Even the smells are unique, whether cutting pine, walnut, oak or even cedar wood.
